How was the hike? Well, I think we had about a 98% survival rate. Not bad, considering the condition of the trail. (I was very surprised, and disappointed, by how poor its condition was -- I don't think it has been hiked much in the past few months. There were also signs of recent flooding.) But, everyone kept a good attitude and I think most enjoyed the hike overall. Everyone seemed to really appreciate the historical significance of the site. After all, when the Scull Shoals community was founded, this was the edge of the American frontier (at least for Europeans)!

Also, my apologies to all of the hikers of whom I did not snap a photo. Yes, I make a lousy "historian". But, I hope the few photos above help capture the spirit of the adventure.

Here again are the directions, for those who want to venture back at some point!
